Joseph Zvesper, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer
Joe is Chief Executive Officer as well as Chairman of the Firm's Board of Directors. His principal focus is the development and implementation of the Firm’s global strategic initiatives. He maintains offices in New York, London and Milwaukee.
Prior to joining American Appraisal in 1993 as Executive Vice President & CFO, Joe held various senior consulting and practice development positions with Price Waterhouse. He has extensive experience in the mergers & acquisitions arena both as an advisor and investor.
Joe is a certified public accountant and earned his university degree in Accounting and Economics (magna cum laude) from Carroll University in 1976.

Lee Hackett, Executive Vice President
Lee is an executive vice president and director. He directs major domestic and international valuation and consulting operations and provides advisory services worldwide. He also represents American Appraisal and the valuation profession in leading roles with domestic and international valuation-standard-setting bodies. He is a member of various national and international appraisal organizations and serves on the Board of Trustees of the International Valuation Standards Council (IVSC).
Lee earned his MBA from the University of Chicago, and holds a Bachelor of Science – Electrical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He has held various appraisal and managerial positions in the Firm’s industrial and financial valuation practices.

Kimberly Russo, Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer
Kim is an executive vice president, Chief Financial Officer and director. She has also served as the Firm’s senior vice president of finance.
Kim is a certified public accountant and earned a Bachelor of Science – Accounting from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Prior to joining American Appraisal, she was a member of the audit consulting staff of Price Waterhouse.

Richard Siladi, Senior Vice President &
Chief Knowledge & Risk Management Officer
Rick is a senior vice president and the Chief Knowledge & Risk Management Officer. He oversees quality, standards, procedures and completion of all valuation engagements performed by American Appraisal’s US operations. He is a member of the Appraisal Issues Task Force.
Rick earned an MBA and a Bachelor of Science – Finance from Marquette University. He has held various consulting and management positions within the Firm, including senior vice president - national director of the financial valuation practice and national managing director of the appraisal services practice.

Dale Egan, Senior Vice President & General Counsel
Dale is a senior vice president and general counsel, responsible for the Firm’s Legal Department. He joined American Appraisal’s financial valuation practice in 1995, focusing on patent portfolio valuations and international technology companies. He became the associate general counsel in 1998 and general counsel in 2000. Prior to joining American Appraisal, Dale spent two years with Ryan, Kromholz & Manion, S.C., a boutique patent and trademark prosecution firm.
Dale earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in corporate finance from the University of St. Thomas and earned his Juris Doctorate, Intellectual Property Law/Labor Law, at Marquette University Law School. He is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin and the American Bar Association.

Paul Hartnett, Managing Director - USA
Paul is the managing director of US operations. He manages all of the US consulting, business development and marketing activities, including nine regional consulting offices. Prior to joining American Appraisal, he led the public service assurance and consulting practice in KPMG’s Milwaukee office.
Paul earned his Bachelor of Business Administration – Accounting at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He is a certified public accountant and has extensive experience in providing assurance and consulting services to publicly traded companies, large manufacturers, insurance companies, healthcare organizations, government entities, and colleges and universities.

Herbert Saunders, Managing Director - Canada
Herb is the managing director of Canadian operations. He consults with clients in the public and private sectors to resolve a wide range of issues relating to valuation, transaction consulting and fixed asset management. Prior to joining American Appraisal in 1983, Herb held various positions in insurance, banking and corporate finance. He attended Trent University, earning Bachelor of Arts degrees in Political Science and Economics.

Erwin Votteler, Managing Director - Brazil
Erwin is the managing director and president of American Appraisal’s operations in Spain, Portugal, and Brazil (Latin America). He has more than 20 years of experience working in the valuation-consulting industry. Prior to assuming his current role, he was the firm’s European financial controller. Before joining American Appraisal, he was employed by firms in the technology and insurance sectors.

Raymond Moran, Managing Director - Asia Pacific Operations
Ray is the managing director of the Asia/Pacific region, responsible for all aspects of the Firm’s business in Japan, China, Australia, India, Thailand and Russia. He has served as manager and director of industrial and real estate valuation groups. Ray spent two years in Hong Kong as the liaison to business operations in China, Japan, and Thailand.
Ray attended Hofstra University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Valuation Sciences. He speaks frequently on valuation issues throughout the world and is an accredited senior appraiser of the American Society of Appraisers. He is also a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), and was recently appointed to the Standards Board of RICS Americas.

John Farrant, Director - Australia
John is a director of the financial valuation practice for the Oceania region. He was a founding member of American Appraisal’s Sydney office in 2008. Previously, he spent a number of years with PwC’s Corporate Finance division in Sydney. He also spent two years in London as an adviser to UK energy regulator Ofgem, gaining significant direct exposure to the infrastructure sector.
John attended the University of Technology, Sydney, is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and earned a graduate diploma in Applied Finance & Investment from the Financial Services Institute of Australia.

Varun Gupta, Managing Director - India
Varun is the managing director responsible for overall management of operations in India, including technical direction and client management on complex engagements. He has more than 16 years of experience in valuation and financial advisory services.
Varun earned his MBA from the Indian Institute of Management. Prior to joining American Appraisal, Varun worked with Deloitte, leading a team of 70 professionals in providing valuation services to US-based clients in relation to valuation of investments, purchase price allocation and impairment testing under US GAAP and IFRS. He has also worked with PwC’s Financial Advisory Services practice in India, focusing on valuation and project finance.

Alexander Lopatnikov, Managing Director - Russia & Central Asia
Alexander is a managing director in Russia and the CIS. He is a leader of American Appraisal’s global extractive industries team and a member of the Extractive Industries Committee of the International Valuation Standards Council (IVSC).
Alexander is a frequent speaker at various international conferences, addressing topics such as emerging issues in IFRS and International Valuation Standards, fair value measurement and M&A in the energy, metals and mining industries. He has also participated in a group of experts engaged by the IVSC to update IVS guidance notes.
Alexander studied theoretical and experimental physics at the Moscow Engineering Physics Institute and undertook postgraduate studies at the D.V. Efremov Scientific Research Institute of Electrophysical Apparatus. He also completed executive and professional development programmes at London Business School (Advanced Corporate Finance) and Imperial College London (Mineral Project and Finance).

Vincent Tsang, Managing Director - Taiwan
Vincent is the managing director of American Appraisal’s Taiwan operations. He has been providing valuation and related advisory services since 1996.
Vincent earned a Bachelor of Commerce (Honors) from Queen’s University, Canada, and an MBA from the University of British Columbia. He is a certified public accountant and was the first individual in Asia to obtain an ABV qualification. Prior to joining American Appraisal, Vincent was Head of Valuation Practice at both Deloitte Northern China and KPMG Taiwan.

Rodolfo Vergara, Managing Director - Thailand
Rod is the managing director of operations in Thailand. He directs and coordinates business development, technical, administration, and accounting functions, as well as review of major appraisal engagements.
Rod studied extensively at the University of the Philippines, earning his MBA as well as degrees in civil engineering (cum laude) and physics (National Science Development Board Scholar). Before joining American Appraisal, Rod worked in management at Philippine Refining Company, a subsidiary of Unilever in the Philippines. He has also worked as a financial/research analyst with an investment/management company.

Patrick Wu, Managing Director - China
Patrick is president and managing director responsible for Greater China operations, especially in Hong Kong and the People’s Republic of China, which has offices in Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen.
Patrick attended the University of London, earned an MBA from Case Business School, and studied law at the College of Law, London, England. Prior to joining American Appraisal, Patrick was a partner of the international law firm of Coudert Brothers with particular responsibility for China trade advice. Patrick was admitted into the practice as a lawyer in England and Wales in 1981 and in Hong Kong in 1982.

Yerlan Yeszhanov, Director - Kazakhstan
Yerlan is the director of business development in Kazakhstan and Central Asia. He holds state licenses on valuation activity in the Republic of Kazakhstan and is a member of American Appraisal’s Global Extractive Industries Team.
Yerlan earned a master’s degree from the Kazakh Technical Academy Magistracy. He has also studied international economic relations at the Kazakh State Academy of Management, specialized in German language studies at Kazakh State University of World Languages, and studied law at Humanitarian University (named after D. A. Kunaev). Prior to joining American Appraisal, Yerlan worked for China Oilfield Services Limited (Kazakhstan) LLP as a general manager and for Baker Hughes as manager of the Shared Services division, deputy registered manager of the BHSII branch office, and business development manager in Kazakhstan.

Henryk is managing director of American Appraisal’s operations in Poland and a director of the financial valuation practice. He has broad experience with financial consulting projects including buy-side and sell-side transaction advice, analyses of business plans for start-up companies, financial modeling, project financing, and restructuring and reorganization analyses.
Henryk holds MBAs in Business Administration and Banking and Finance. Prior to joining American Appraisal, he was a senior consultant in the Corporate Finance Department of Deloitte & Touche, specializing in valuation and transaction services. Michael Weaver, Managing Director - United Kingdom
Mike leads American Appraisal's UK practice. He has 16 years of valuation and advisory experience, having started his career at PwC in 1995 after earning a Bachelor of Science – Mathematics from St. Andrews University. He left PwC’s Valuation and Strategy division in 2002 to start his own valuation business with a number of other senior PwC colleagues.
Mike is on the Committee of the Valuation Special Interest Group at the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and is a Member of the RICS Business Valuation division. He is regularly appointed by the President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants to opine on valuation issues in litigation proceedings and regularly lectures on the subject of business, share and option valuation techniques.
